Quick and Easy Scenery Details
No layout is really complete until some believable scenery has been added.
The big elements, like the structures and hills gets noticed first. The small scenic elements are really the ones that add realism to the layout. Look around us almost everywhere are trees.
How to make trees:
Pick your own size and shape. Look around to find the best size and shape.
Trim the unwanted and give it the shape you like.
Tape the stems together with brown florist tape to form a tree trunk.
Spray the foliage with black spray paint; this provides the shadowy look and serves as an adhesive to hold everything in place.
While the paint is still wet, shake Woodland Scenics ground foam on to the branches. Chose any color that fits your need.
Shake off the excess ground foam.
Drill the appropriate sized hole in a piece of wood and stick the trunk into the hole to allow your tree to dry.

Landscaping:
Use Styrofoam and a heat gun in a well ventilated or outside. Do not hold the heat gun to close. Start from a safe distance. The Styrofoam will start to change its form. Stop and allow time to cool before touching.
Or use thick packing foam and a kitchen knife to cut shapes.
Use Latex paint or any other paint available.
Pick you own colors mix green and tan to create transition colors.
Allow time to dry and place on your layout.
