How to make a particular train trigger a particular sound.
Sounds can be triggered when a Reed Switch is momentary closed by the field of a Magnet.
Momentary connection = once the reed switch closed and released open, the module will continue playing to the end even if the connection in not maintained.
Stationary Sound:
If two or more Reed Switches are wired together in parallel the sound would play again. You can space them so it will trigger again without any pause.
If two or more Reed Switches are wired together in series, the sound will not be triggered unless all switches close in the same time. So a particular train can trigger it own sound.
Example:
Place two reed switches under the track spaced 1 inch apart.
The sound will only be triggered if both reed switch close at the same time.
Only a train with two magnets underneath it will trigger the sound.
Note: The magnet needs to be spaced and placed less than 1-1/4 inches from the Reed Switch.
Using different placements between reed switches and corresponding magnets you can identify many trains and trigger many sounds.
EXTERNAL AMPLIFIED DUAL SPEAKER SYSTEM CAN BE USED TO INCREASE YOU PREFERRED SOUND VOLUME.
Moving Sound:
To continuously play the same sound, attach a magnet to the axle.
As soon as the train starts to move it will trigger the module incorporated in the train car.
As the train moves the magnet turns on the axle, at the end of the 20 seconds it will restart.
