Your - RSM Module is a 20-Seconds Sound Recording Module.

The recorded sound will be activated by the Train Set Electronics Magnetic Sign or Magnet provided.

RSM provides quality digital recording and playback for a sound or a message up to 20 seconds.

Because this recording module is digital, you can record a new sound or message as many times as you like.

RECORDING

• Hold down the R (record) button.
• Play your sound or your message (up to 20 seconds) about 3 inches from the box.
• Release the R button to stop recording.

Note: A new recording replaces the previous one. 

PLAYBACK

• Press the P button. The RSM plays your recording.
• Insert the RSM into a locomotive, box car or rolling stock car and place the Reed Switch/P switch as close as possible to the side of the car.
• Place and Secure the Magnetic Sign or the Magnet on your layout to 1 1/4 - inches or less from the Locomotive or Rolling Stock Car placed on the track.
• Start operating your train. Your recorded sound will playback when the Locomotive or the Rolling Stock Car will pass the Magnetic Sign or the Magnet.

Note: If playback volume is to low, increase the volume during the recording.

         If you are unhappy with your recording, record a new one.

           The quality of the sound is based on the quality of the sound recorded.

The Magnetic Sign or the Magnet must be positioned to 1 1/4 - inches or less from the Locomotive or Rolling Stock Car placed on the track

When playback slows down, replace all the batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES

• Your RSM and RSMO comes with Type 357 batteries (3 each). Use our online Cell Battery Chart to find equivalent battery.
• Your RSMG requires 3 - AA batteries. 
• To replace the batteries: Use a #1 Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove the cover. Remove the old batteries and dispose properly.
• For RSM and RSMO - Each battery (+) side must be oriented towards the spring. Place first battery next to the spring and continue.
• Reinstall battery cover.

Note: When you remove the batteries, the RSM retains the recording until you install new batteries and/or make a new recording.

If you do not plan to use the RSM for a month or longer, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic parts.

WARRANTY - 2 YEAR FROM DATE OF PURCHASE

CARE - To enjoy your RSM for a long time:

• Keep it dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
• Use and store the RSM only in normal temperature environments.
• Handle the RSM gently and carefully. DO NOT DROP IT.
• Keep the RSM away from dust and dirt.

MODIFYING OR TAMPERING WITH THE RSM's INTERNAL COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION AND WILL INVALIDATE ITS WARRANTY.
